Modern Man

To be or not to be was Hamlets’,
But, to eat or not to eat is ours,
World of colored and flavorful foods,
To tingle our brain and tongue,
And push us into the everlasting hell of flabbiness.

Nay! Good soul,
Repent for all that goes in,
For it’s not too late,
Nay! Though art doomed,
Repenting will not stop you,
From ill-health which is leeching

There they are…
Lustrously flat like the belly of a young fair maiden,
Sprinkled with goodness of fertilized vegetables,
And meat of hen or goat,
Topped with cheese, to stay forever,
Dangling in our belly,
Named pizza, the first ever devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
Stop, for there are healthy options,
It’s not too late,
Nay! Taste of cheesy goodness,
Cannot stand before
Boiled fresh vegetables…

Minced meat or vegetables, round in shape,
Between wife and mistress,
And wetness of mayo and cheese,
Made of Maida, pure sin, in every bite,
But, madness continues, mostly youngsters,
Named Burger, the second devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
Mom made roundels with dhal,
Same as it, and healthy too,
Nay! It isn’t tasty,
Nor does the cheese melt and ooze out,
With mixed flavors

Crisp, flavorful in every bite,
Crunchy and juicy, oozing oil,
Fried to lose its health quotient,
Dipped in so called tomato sauce,
One second in mouth and forever in fatty belly,
Named fried chicken, the third devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
Chicken full protein,
But thou shalt not fry,
Nay! That doesn’t taste,
Doesn’t crunch in our mouth,
Not juicy and spicy

In different rainbow colours,
Made of the forbidden flour,
Added chemicals to preserve and savor,
Few with liquor for that extra kick,
Creamy, smooth, soft and always tempting,
Named pastries, the fourth devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
Taste the palm sugar or jiggery,
Your forefathers relished and lived long,
Nay! Thou art a fool,
Cause it stands not even close,
To this creamy ecstasy

Not as sweet or appealing as predecessors,
Bitter or sometimes sweet,
But always entice human race with its power,
Quick enough to bring in momentary madness,
Had with a variety of combinations,
Named Alcohol, worst devil of them all, the fifth devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
In God’s creation, extracts of fruits,
Heavenly than these precarious ones,
Nay! The pleasure and hallucination,
This provides, none to match,
None to match!

Borrowed from neighborhood,
Long strings of maida in sauces and meat or veges,
Goodness of vegetables and meat fried and spoilt,
Par cooked rice with miniscule veges or meat,
With monosodium to taste,
Named Chinese food, the sixth devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Nay! Good soul,
Our traditional food,
Taste better and are bodyguards of your health,
Nay! The taste of Manchurian,
In dark soy sauce or the taste of MSG,
Tasty and helly than anything else

Fizzy, sugary, cold or plain,
Quenches thrust and drenches health,
Varied colours black, orange, even blue,
Aerated for pleasure and thrill,
None less than mild chemicals,
Named Cool drinks, the final seventh devil,
To jeopardize man’s life

Oh! Good soul,
Your doomsday not too far,
For thy choose to go hither,
And savor the forbidden,
None can save thee, not even God,
For no repentance for all the sins you commit,
And no escape.

Come oh ye!  men,
For our world is Hell,
Behold our lord the Satan,
Lets go into the every lasting flabbiness…
