God's Creations
Rosy hue, fresh fragrance, and joy everywhere,
For God was to create living beings on earth,
Rejoicing the word of the beautiful creation,
Angels gather in circles fluttering their sparkling, white wings,
Discussing about God’s decision,
God’s court was full of anxious angels,
While God silently walked by to his throne.
The artful architect started his work,
And lo! There it was his first creation,
Which stood on four legs, with long ears and small eyes,
Though a beautiful creation,
Not much admiration flourished amidst angels,
God spoke to his creation,
“Thou will be named Donkey,
And you would work from dawn to dusk,
Less in intelligence, I grant thee fifty years of life”
Away from greed the donkey returns thirty of his life span,
Happily goes to live on earth.
Merciful architect again on work,
This time he could hear the sighs of angels,
Thus created a wonder which barked,
It stood on four legs but was sharper than the first creation,
Even received few applause from the angels,
God said,
“Thou will be named Dog,
Faithful to thine master and eat all scraps he gives,
Better intelligence than donkey, I grant thee thirty years of life”
Not too greedy the dog returned fifteen of his life span,
Merrily went to his heaven the earth.
Graceful architect sat to work,
When a little nymph with all his tricks made him smile,
Nymph tumbled and twisted with his little winged body,
With merriment he created a being,
Which stood on four, two and even one leg,
God saw his harmless tricks and said,
“Thou will be called Monkey,
You will amuse people with your tricks,
Much better in intelligence than dog, I grant thee twenty years of life”
Greedless monkey sat on the master’s lap and wished only for ten years,
So he chirped and went joyfully to his abode.
God stood up and walked away,
Promising to create a being the next day,
Which would amuse all angels and all beings he had created,
Tired angels formed circles to discuss,
They kept awake wondering what he would create,
It was dawn and the excited angels waited,
For almighty to start his creation.
Mighty architect looked tired,
For he had kept awake thinking about his next creation,
Few angels flapped their wings in excitement,
Suddenly, the being appeared, which stood on two legs,
Almost all angels fell in love with his remarkable beauty,
God saw himself in his creation and said,
“Thou will be called Human,
You will be rational and master all my other creations
Superior most in intelligence, thou shall live for twenty long years”
Greedy man spoke,
“Lord, twenty thy grant me ain’t ample,
Grant me the thirty that donkey refused,
Fifteen that the faithful creature refused,
And also the ten the monkey refused.”
God smiled and granted.
And so man came on earth with seventy five years of life,
The first twenty God given years he spend merrily,
With admiration for the world around him,
Next thirty donkey years lived like a donkey after marriage,
With more burden and life of worries,
The next fifteen dog years lived like a dog guarding his family,
With the food that is given to him,
The last ten monkey years lived like a monkey moving from one son’s house to another,
With tired body, doing tricks just to amuse grand children.
He sat in one corner and thought of his life,
The donkey, dog, and monkey lived in merry and died joyfully,
They were not as intelligent as him yet happy,
He knelt and prayed to God,
“God why am I not happy?”
A thunder in the clear skies and a voice replied,
“It’s your greed my son, never ending greed”
Man heard and closed his eyes never to open again.
